When I was a teenager, I worked as a barista where I met some of the realtors from Korby Home Team. They were so friendly and knowledgeable about their work and the neighborhood that I knew, once my husband and I decided to buy our first house, they'd be a great fit. Working with Beth and the rest of the team was a great experience. We knew our price range but were uncertain as to the area of the Cities we wanted to live in. My experience with the Korby Home Team has been extensive over the past 10 months. It all started with a sale of an investment property, which was a long shot since it was a condo purchased at the height of the market. I met with Shawn Korby and he spent an extensive amount of time calculating the market value and outlining the options. Since it was nearing winter and the comps weren't great, we decided to sit on it, I put it out of my mind - Shawn didn't. He called me mid-January with the great news that a new comp had shown up from a cash sale and the time was 'NOW' to list. He was absolutely right, we listed and sold in under two weeks. Next came my primary residence, this one was harder for me (emotionally) to let go of being my first home. I put his team (Katy, Travis etc.) through the ringer getting this one ready. Shawn worked with me on pricing and timing, Katy worked to get the house staged, photos and measurements (all while I was saddened to leave) and Travis held everything together behind the scenes with grace. Again we listed and sold in less than two weeks. Next came the purchase - we were in a unique situation looking to buy a lot upon which to build. Shawn worked with me extensively on the pros and cons, taking a conservative approach, ensuring we'd though of everything. At the end of the day he truly cared more about doing the right thing for my family than making a sale, this was very important for us as the home buying/selling process is often so emotional. We quickly came to an agreement with the sellers and are currently building our home. Shawn and Travis presented us with tear-jerking gifts at each closing and another which Travis hand-delivered. Since these transactions have completed the team has stayed in touch, asking about plans and jumping and running a few times when we thought about changing our minds. This team is comprised of truly to-notch, first class professionals whom I'd recommend (and have) to any friend or family. This team was extremely dedicated and worked all hours of the week to make sure we closed on our house. Our bank screwed-up and misspelled our name on documents which delayed closing TWICE (the bank never changed the spelling after the first failed closure). The worst part was our bank stopped communicating with us and we were scheduled to move out of our apartment before the next prospective closure. The Korby Team was incredible during this process. They took over communication with the bank, negotiated storage and housing with the bank (since we were scheduled to move out of our apartment), and expedited the closure . I couldn't be more happy with this team. They exceeded my expectations. Since closing, my wife and I are still in touch with the Korby Team. Working with the Korby Team is not just about closing on a house or a business transaction; they go above and beyond forming a personal relationship with their clients that is ongoing.

Shawn was recommended to us through a friend from work and we ended up choosing him after meeting with a few different agents. As first time homebuyers Shawn seemed to have the most sensible approach and asked us questions that did not come up when meeting with other agents. Throughout the entire process, Shawn was fast to respond to both email and calls and he always gave clear, thoughtful answers to our questions (which were many and varied). Probably the best recommendation we can give is that when we eventually decide to move again Shawn will be the person we go to first.
When I first met Sue Evans with the Korby Home Team, I felt a connection. She was friendly and professional. My husband and I quickly learned though that the area we wanted to live in was too pricey, so we had to move our house search further out of the cities into Coon Rapids, Fridley, and Brooklyn Park. We didn't feel our needs being met after we moved our house search due to not getting house showings on the same day or having sometimes to wait two days for a showing. We also couldn't see houses unless we had more than one. Eventually we stumbled upon a Neighborhood Stabilization Program house, and loved it since everything was renovated. Sue did not take the time to learn about the program and we ended up doing the research ourselves. When we asked Sue for her support, we did not get a response. That is when we decided to cancel our agreement with them. Thankfully, Sue cancelled the agreement without trying to persuade us to stay in a contract we were not happy with. I remove one star for not being able to find us a house and another star for not knowing more about programs out there. Other than that, the Korby Home Team has been nothing but nice whenever we have interacted with them.
