What Buyers and Sellers Look for in their Real Estate Agent.

Every year The National Association of Realtors (NAR) creates a report full of information to help all of us better understand what is happening in our industry.  One of the areas that the Korby Home Team likes to focus in on is what are the key factors that buyers and sellers are looking for in their agent.  If you think it is about what company someone is with or what kind of formal designations they have, its not.

In 2013, the number one thing that buyers looked for in their agent was Honesty and Trustworthiness.  This was even ranked higher than neighborhood knowledge.  The number two thing was Reputation.  The interesting part when reviewing this information is that these three key attributes are all character and integrity traits.  In order to be successful in Real Estate or any business for that matter, all of these traits must be present.

According to the NAR data, in 2013 sellers had similar interests in hiring their agent.  The top trait that sellers were looking for in their agent was  Reputation of Agent, with Honest and Trustworthiness right behind it.

One of my favorite all time quotes from John Maxwell is “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”  Based on the information provided in both these surveys, it is rather evident that the relationship that is created and built on trust, care and honesty can outweigh a lot of other factors.

Katy and her husband have two children, Libby and Calvin, and have lived in Como Park for almost two decades. In 2013, Katy completed the Tough Mudder 10 mile event and is a proud member of the “Finishers” group! For fun, Katy loves reading, photography and gardening and spending time with her family.
